The Friends of the McKay Gardens was formed in 2007. We are a group of people interested in restoring and maintaining the historic H.V.McKay Memorial Gardens. Our activities vary from running planting days and historical walks to choosing trees and making submissions to the local council.
We meet on the last Saturday of each month (between 10 and 11am) at the Presbyterian Church Meeting Room (In the grounds of the gardens, see the Blog for next meeting) to plan up-coming projects. Anyone can join the group, even if you are not a gardener.
The Friends put out a newsletter on a bi-monthly basis. If you wish to receive an electronic version of the newsletter just contact us. Subsription to the newsletter is free of charge.
Full membership is currently $5.00 annually. Financial membership provides opportunities to participate in making decisions about the future shape of the gardens and helps us continue our work. Joining is as simple as paying subscription fees and attending a meeting.
